HANDWOVEN MERINO WOOL SCARF

I have used a very soft black merino for this scarf, together with some very fine laceweight merino in nine different colours. I used a spaced warp weave to give this scarf a slightly open look and have combined that with little coloured squares in double weave. This pattern is woven for 16", 40cm on each end and then the colours carry on into the main body of the scarf as stripes. The pattern looks quite different on the reverse of the scarf, as shown in the pictures.

The colours I used are magenta, mint green, yellow, lavender, dark pink, orange, turquoise, chartreuse and deep purple.

This is a lovely quality merino, very soft and of light/medium weight.

It is a little wider than I usually make my scarves - being 9.5" wide x 66" long, 24cm x 168cm and is finished with a knotted fringe
